Open Nebraska cordially invites you to Nebraska's First Annual Community Tech Party at Mahoney State Park on June 1st, in honor of the National Day of Civic Hacking.
Inspired by the Super Happy Block Party model, this party in the park is dedicated to building our community, and using technology to support the social and civic good. The goal is to bring together tech groups, community groups, nonprofits, businesses, and members of the public from both Omaha and Lincoln to make connections and share ideas.
Anyone can participate; you don't have be involved in technology, but you do have to care about your neighborhood and community. Come learn about Open Nebraska's current and future projects, and let's talk about how we can work together to improve the community.
We'll have a few activities, but the goal is to build a creative space, bring people together, and let the magic happen. If you or your organization would like to have an activity to showcase your work in using tech to help the community, let us know, and we'll make sure you have the space you need.
We'll meet at the Bur Oak Picnic Shelter at Mahoney State Park, from 10am-2pm. Lunch will be provided but feel free to bring a side dish too!Make sure to RSVP here on Eventbrite. When you enter the park, give the park ranger your name and say you're with Open Nebraska, and we'll cover your park admission fee!You don't need to present a ticket when you arrive. We're using Eventbrite only to get an accurate head count for food and drinks. This is a family-friendly event, so bring your loved ones, children, and dogs.
CHECK BACK SOON - we'll add more details and activities as the date draws near.
