I used to work at Moody's - one of the major bond rating agencies - as well as several major banks. My experience taught me that large financial institutions don't do a great job of measuring risk. I believe the crowd can do better.
I am hoping to find smart, motivated people who want to work on my open source finance projects or who want to start their own projects.
Yes, I have introduced an open source government bond rating tool called "Public Sector Credit Framework". Find it on GitHub at http://www.github.com/joffemd/pscf or at http://www.publicsectorcredit.org/pscf.html
I started this Meetup.
Marc, I would love to get involved. I / we have had a few financial educational and literacy portals with the ability to leverage with licensed financial advisors for more than a few years. We can discuss privately and give you the first choice since you are leading this group.
This is interesting, since I have contributed to architect finance and wealth management related platforms.
Oh! By the way: Arnold tongues ( being used to predict when a cell will go cancerous or when MicroRNA will set-off the chain to do so. ) This is just a general wikipedia article. If this is "old news" to you...slap me with a dead fish! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arnold_t...
As a side-note. I was amazed last week. I attended a series of lectures at Stanford Medical School on MicroRNAs and the future of cancer cure, Arnold Tongues in Biology and more. What was interesting is they're analyzing their data using tools very similar if not exact to what is and can be used to predict failture in cities. I should have some video in a week. You might want to look at this and abstract to your particular circumstances. Quite fascinating.
Hey Marc, Wanna present an app or brilliant app idea you've been working on? We are kicking off a series of ultracode meetups in SF, focused on windows 8, touch&screen capabilities, and cross platform html5 apps. We want to keep the event developer-centric, so more coding and less slides! Oh, also the fun will be accompanied by beer, pizza and swag! - check it out: http://bit.ly/Ssccoc
Ping me if you are interested in presenting
