Dear ODBH member,

A quick note to let you know the Open-data Cities Conference website is now live - with the initial list of [excellent] keynote speakers (also, see below).

Tickets can be bought here.

To mark a month to go to the conference, a free drinks party will take place at 8pm on Monday, March 19. The [central Brighton] venue will be chosen once we have an idea of numbers.

The current list of keynote speakers comprises:

• Leigh Dodds, of Kasabi, an online marketplace that brings developers and data-publishers together to create new business models for the benefit of businesses and consumers;

• Lean Doody, who leads work on smart cities for Arup, the global firm of consulting engineers, is particularly focused on how technology and data can support sustainable cities;

• John Barradell, chief executive officer of Brighton and Hove City Council, is passionate about public services and believes that councils should be at the heart of communities. He came to Brighton and Hove in 2009 from Westminster City Council, where he had been deputy chief executive since 2006;

• Emer Coleman, deputy director of digital engagement at the Government Digital Service, is former director of digital projects for the Greater London Authority and played a leading role in the creation of the London Datastore;

• Tom Steinberg is founder and director of mySociety, which runs many of the best-known democracy websites, including TheyWorkForYou, which helps hold MPs to account;

• Jonathan Carr-West, the director of the Local Government Information Unit, leads the policy team of the award-winning think tank;

• Ian Holt is responsible for encouraging innovative use of Ordnance Survey mapping data.

Best wishes,

Greg
