The title is a mouthful, but it's a great opportunity!
Are you interested in event planning? If so...
The folks at the ALA wanted me to tell you about a Subcommittee that is planning an After Party for the 2012 Fight for Air Climb. The Subcommittee will meet once a month until the Climb on May 5th, 2012.
Here are the details:
On Saturday, May 5, 2012, the American Lung Association will host its 3rd Annual Fight for Air Climb in the Metropolitan Tower, located in downtown Little Rock. As the only stairclimb in the entire state, this is far more than your same-old 5K- it is a vertical race to the 39th floor that includes 78 flights and 916 steps!
The Climb usually only takes about 20-30 minutes to complete, so we need fun, outgoing and creative volunteers to help us plan an After Party! After participants are finished with the climb they will take the elevator back down to the lobby and enjoy entertainment, games, and door prizes!
Our first meeting will be at Big Whiskey’s in downtown Little Rock, on Tuesday September 27 from 5:15 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. This meeting is just an introductory meeting to get to know everyone who will be on the Subcommittee, outline our goals for the event, and to discuss the contacts we can reach out to help us with the Fight for Air Climb After Party!
PLEASE RSVP if you plan on attending so I can make a reservation! RSVP no later than Friday, September 23. If you want to join the Subcommittee, but cannot attend the meeting on Tuesday, September 27th please let me know
