Instructables build night

The Open Garage has been selected by Instructables to host one of their August build nights, sponsored by Jameco. We'll get a bunch of free electronics to build stuff with and we've been asked to post the results on Instructables. Provided there are free parts, I'm pretty sure people can come up with some interesting ideas to work on at this special open garage! Bring a drink, some ideas and we'll provide a set of electronics parts to play with!

    Here's the 1-bit memory Instructable: http://www.instructables.com/id/analogue-1-bit-memory-on-a-breadboard/
I struggled a bit with the circuits.io schematic, so please tell me if it needs to be improved. (also, SVG downloads from circuits.io would be awesome)

They also suggested me to put it up a a photo album instead of a step-by-step instructions because there aren't enough steps. Darned. But we already got thumbs up from the organizer, so that's fine :)

I was also contacted to change some stuff, never knew the instructables people actually checked the instructables with such rigor

Great, thx! I'll clean it up in Illustrator and add it to the instructable instead of that screenshot.

I was never expecting this many people to show up (meetup RSVPs usually account for a minority of attendants). Dependent on the need for horizontal space, I'll extend workspace into the garden or into the house. Please bring plenty of spare components (we only got 4 breadboards & 4 batteries ...), soldering irons, ideas and drinks! Please do not forget your inner self!

I'm perfectly fine with just taking pictures. I'll bring my camera. And drinks. Drinks are essential.

I'll bring two breadboards and some 9v batteries

Ik moet nog eens polsen bij Thomas. Die trouwt komende vrijdag, en komt de avond voordien bij ons logeren. Misschien komen we gewoon met z'n twee !

Hi Anthony, I'm quite new to this! I'm not an electronics designer, but I'd love to come and check out the Open Garage (/garden). If OK with you I'll stop by, learn and enjoy the atmosphere!

That is indeed the plan! Bring a drink!

Great, I'll do so! See you on Thursday :)

My electronics skills are, as of yet, far from stellar, so I'll see how it goes. Will bring drinks and supportive attitude.

Since we have a bunch of 555s (10), resistors (many) and LEDs (many) besides batteries, breadboards and a bag of crappy parts, I think we'll be having a few blinking light or laser sound circuits developed around the 555s. Make sure to bring a few capacitors and transistors to make something cooler. And you may already want to check http://www.555-timer-circuits.com/ for some ideas what could be at the core of your project.

Bringing some conductive thread and fabric, guess those parts are ideal for some flexible electronics experimentation

Our grab bags have already arrived, see here: http://www.meetup.com/OpenGarage/photos/16121772/

It will be useful to bring a bunch of extra components dependent on your project, though ...
