Belgian Summer Hacker Camp 2014

Mark your calendars: From Thursday evening August 14 to Sunday evening August[masked], the Open Garage goes on a family friendly summer camp.

Yes, camping, as in sleeping in a tent. But also a long weekend full of hacking and making, computers, soldering irons, 3D printers, quad copters and whatever you bring!

Het was een mega splinterbom, waar velen nog lang creatief van kunnen verder ontploffen! :)

Is there anyone with whom I can hitch a ride from Lier or thereabouts?

Hey all, in case you didn't notice, camp is on but the organization has moved out of meetup. We have a great program for y'all (http://program.fri3d.be), the ticket shop is open (https://registration.fri3d.be) with great ticket prices, especially for students and families and more general information can be found at http://fri3d.be

If you want in, get your ticket NOW as our shop closes this weekend!!!

The "Hoge Rielen" is likely a very good spot to go to. It's cheap and we can scale up as big as we want. E.g., their "K3" site is 2000m^2 and has a hangar that can be used for various purposes, with sanitary and cooking block, for 108€/night. Prices and details of camping grounds can be found here: http://www.dehogerielen.be/sites/default/files/hoge-rielen/DEFINITIEF_Brochure%20web_spread.pdf

FOS Lier has a pretty big open field, and ancillary buildings: http://www.durendael.be/nl/info/eenheid/lokaalverhuur
This would allow 'open air' camping combined with indoor activities. KSA has a somewhat less impressive shed right next door which they might also rent out on occasion (my son goes there every Saturday afternoon).

What would be the requirements? In terms of location, power, Internet access, water, etc.?

We need some camping space for[masked] people. Electricity can be arranged. Water and access to a sewer would be nice, toilets can be arranged. We're looking at 2 options: Fort 3 in Borsbeek and a field in Brecht. Any "buitenverblijf" that's in the middle of nowhere may do as well.

Fort 3 in Borsbeek is not allowed, so this option is out.
