I worked in IT at UT Austin for ten years. I just completed my masters in multimedia journalism at UC Berkeley. My goal is to combine the best from journalism, technology, academic research and storytelling to encourage interest in the humanities.
Projects that will be of service to folk that live in Oakland. I've been lurking on Google group, have we tried to find out what people want? I assume crime, cop abuse tracking and budget will be of interest.
Helping to foster communication between non-techs and techs, front end coding, logistical planning for events, etc.
I'm still open!
Greetings, Shilanda! I hope you can make it to our class sometime (Fridays at 12pm). It's in the smaller room in the back at Satori, and the name has changed to Lunchbreak Oasis if you pre-register online, which is recommended because it's a small room! I hope to meet you sometime and help you with the intentions you want to set for your practice! If you have any questions, email me! Blessings, Amy
Shilanda, I'd like to formally welcome you to East Bay Cohousing, and also wave hi as a neighbor... Berkeley Cohousing is just around the corner from The Convent, and I'm a Berkeley Student Co-op alum (Casa Zimbabwe) myself. I love your analysis of one of the key challenges of community connections in high-priced markets like the core Bay Area:overcoming the structural conflict between renters and owners, finding common ground and alignment to a higher community purpose. Good luck in your search
