Learn Programming with Python (March)

This is the first workshop of a series of monthly Python workshops for beginners, every third Tuesday of the month.

Python is this thing called a programming language. It takes text that you’ve written (usually referred to as code), turns it into instructions for your computer, and runs those instructions. We’ll be learning how to write code to do cool and useful stuff. No longer will you be bound to use others’ programs to do things with your computer!

This workshop will offer complete beginners the opportunity to learn Python using the Introduction to Programming with Python [1] class from OpenTechSchool, and people with some some programming knowledge the opportunity to learn Python by building web applications through the easy Websites with Python Flask [2] class. will this programming language (python) help me to program my arduino ?

As Bart replied, Python is pretty good to make a computer talk with an Arduino (I do it every day). The logic is quite similar, so understanding Python will help you understanding the language of Arduino.

Good workaround. The hands-on tutorial it's excellent for beginners to get the feeling for python with a progressive curve. Count me in if you need any help with next workshop. I'm interesting in assisting since I am a programmer myself.

All the material is on the OTS web page, and the links are at the end of this workshop description. Don't worry if you can't come this time, those workshops are monthly :)
