OpenStack Trove DBaaS and OpenStack 3rd Birthday Party

Join us to celebrate OpenStack's 3rd Birthday Bash and learn about OpenStack Trove - the new Database as a Service component coming in Havana.

The OpenStack Foundation is sponsoring drinks. HP is sponsoring food, and Dell is organizing and planning the event.

Topic: A tour of using OpenStack Trove DBaaS and the Trove clients

Abstract:
Trove is the OpenStack Database as a Service, recently renamed from “Red Dwarf”. Co-developed by RackSpace and HP, it provides a framework for database as a service. I will demonstrate starting and connecting to a MySQL Percona Service instance managed by Trove on the HP Cloud.

Speaker:
Mark Atwood has been deeply involved in devops, data center design and operations, open standards, and open source practice since the late 80s. He describes his work as "learning amazing stuff and meeting amazing people, and then introducing them all to each other". His technology interests include Open Source Development Methodology, Cloud Computing, and Open Source Databases. He is currently the Director of Open Source Engagement at HP Cloud Services. He makes his home in Seattle USA.

Also, on July 24 the Foundation will also host a birthday party during the OSCON conference in Portland, Oregon, USA - where OpenStack was launched in 2010. If you are in the area or attending the conference we would love to see you there too!
