Sacramento Tea Party - Turn up the Heat July 4th BBQ

This location is shown only to members

Thirty-five members and guests added their RSVP for a July 4th Tea Party. I hear your message loud and clear. Some of you want to have a Meetup in spite of no mass of people at the state capital. Okay, I get it. Now let's see who is serious and who's not.

The one thing we're flexible on is the time for your Meetup. If your plans were to go to a fireworks show, we can change the time to early afternoon. I'll put up a poll to help us make that decision. PLEASE... vote!

A few of you have been to our modest and humble shared office within my apartment building. It serves as the nerve center for our community policing groups, PDN's volunteers and now, host to a BBQ for our members.

I will spring for hamburgers, hot dogs, buns and the garnishing. Play the Pot Luck role if you like, but not required. If you're bringing the kiddies, supervise them. When you reply, let us know how many and their ages so we can plan some activities for them while we take care of business. It is the 4th of July so fireworks are welcome and we have plenty of room to set them off safely. In years past, Fire Station #2 have rolled out to let the kids see an engine up close.

I welcome someone coming up with an agenda for this first meeting. I'm just your host.

There should be ample street parking in the neighborhood. I'll talk to ACE Hardware to see if Don will let us use his gated parking lot. I'm adding these photos to help you find us.

Sorry about the photo of the ACE parking lot and rear of our building and don't be alarmed that it's about a police sting. Our neighborhood is safe now thanks to Sac's great patrol officers.

This photo is old and some of the flowerbeds have been replaced with more places to sit. The back gate will be open and a canopy put up to provide additional shade. The delta breeze arrives about 7 PM and our place is well lit after sunset.

biggrin AND YES... I'm happy to have a few of you volunteer to help set up!

It is vitally important that the turnout for the July 4th event either equal or exceed the Tax Day Tea Party. While the Mainstream Media will be pretending to ignore this event, they will be watching closely. Any fall-off in enthusiasm or attendance will be trumpeted as the death of the Tea Party movement - which will allow our so-called "leaders" to breathe a collective sigh of relief - and return to "business as usual" (i.e. dismantling our freedoms, values, beliefs, culture, etc.).

I completely agree! From what I can tell with the various sites that I am involved and helping with people who attended the Tax Day Tea Party are thirsty for more and having a hard time waiting until 7/4 to do more. I think that's great and I think that everyday this administration continues will be another day that our effort grows. There are also Candlelight Vigils popping up for Memorial Day and an effort for Flag Day June 14. We'll just keep hammering away and turning it up!

Belinda... glad to see you're on top of this. We've been really tied up with the DC 9/12 planning and the Veterans Virtual Memorial Village groundbreaking on July 4th as well. Learning the time for our local Tea Party is critical for us. Folks, We Surround Them-SF Bay Area has 247 active members. We really need to recruit more and have some tools for you to use in our Files Section. Please print either one and have them with you all the time. I'll modify when we have a time set.

Not only are my son & I thirsty for more, but customers coming into the store where I work are thirsty, do we have something I can print out to give them before July 4th?

Thirsty? Adult beverages in moderation are ok. Oh... different kind of thirst :-) How about lots of patriotic music, fireworks and All American food to boot? Bring your favorite CD's for the professional sound studio we have here. Bring your laptops and DVD's to share. You also leave with 3x5 flyers to spread the word. Your guests can sign up for our Meetup on the spot and you'll get to see our virtual world event live as well. Heck, you can even participate if you like.
