Los Angeles Opera "Carmen"

No man can resist Carmen's gypsy charms, but when she's ready to move on, watch out! A riveting drama of love and jealousy, filled with famously alluring melodies and captivating dances, CARMEN, is one of the world's most popular operas. With dazzling bursts of color, a thrilling production brings the sights and sounds of Seville to life, from the dusty town center to the clamor of the bullring. Bizet's immortal score overflows with one delight after another, a music lover's hit parade of operas' most intoxicating melodies. (Sung in French with English subtitles).

Tickets: Tickets for this opera are very expensive. I have purchased ticket M37 in the balcony for $58 plus an $8 service charge. The ticket is in the middle of a row of tickets that have not been sold yet. The row below (L) has sold four tickets in the past two days. So, I suggest you buy NOW if you want to sit together. Please feel free to buy tickets in another section.     http://www.laopera.com/reserve/index.aspx?performanceNumber=2047

Other information: We can figure out transportation arrangements closer to the date of the performance. We usually leave OC about 10:30 - 11:00 AM. There is a lovely outside restaurant at the Music Center with a variety of salads, sandwiches, and small pizzas where we can eat lunch before the opera. The performance is at 2 PM.  ** Meetup has changed their format AGAIN, (GRR!!), so here is the photo I tried to put on top.

A lovely time was had by all. We should attend some additional Music Center events, hopefully with the help of Goldstar.

It was great. The fun, familiar music was enjoyably played by LA Opera Orchestra directed by Placido Domingo.

Jonna, count me in for lunch. Is the outdoor cafe at the Music Center the only one there? At what time are we meeting for lunch?
