To Kill a Mockingbird: Novel's Power Amplified On Stage

At 2pm we will see "To Kill a Mockingbird" @ Theatre Palisades and after we will have dinner at Malibu Seafood.

PLAY:  Perhaps no perspective on American society has been as perceptive -- or as poignant -- as that of young Scout Finch, the heroine of To Kill a Mockingbird, Harper Lee's Pulitzer Prize-winning novel. Adapted for the stage by Christopher Sergel (Winesburg, Ohio), this moving play follows Scout as she watches her father Atticus defend Tom Robinson, a black man framed for a crime he did not commit. As the trial progresses, Scout and her brother Jem discover that evil (and goodness) can turn up in the unlikeliest of places. Elissa Anne Polansky (Cabaret) directs this stirring portrayal of both racial and family relations for Theatre Palisades.

Goldstar tickets are available for for $13.50 @

Malibu Seafoods @ 25653 Pacific Coast Hwy is 1.5 miles north of the Smothers Theater.

This is a casual friendly neighborhood fish shack serving very good seafood at one of the best locations in California.

We order from the counter and then go outside and sit at one of the tables which looks back over the Pacific.

One of the greatest movies ever made, based on the wonderfully insightful and honest book. Sorry I cannot attend.
