Building Interactive Web Applications with WebSocket and Spring

This month Igor Geyfman will be speaking to us about WebSockets and Spring.

Please note the change in venue!

A session exploring WebSocket technology and new features of Spring Framework 4 that allow building WebSocket applications with just a few lines of code. We’ll cover WebSocket protocol and STOMP message format, SockJS client-side library and how you can use Spring to quickly build real life applications using these technologies. You’re welcome to bring your Spring questions and challenges that the speaker can address in the end.

Speaker Bio:
Igor Geyfman has over 15 years of Software Architecture and Development experience. He is a former Spring Source architect and now, as part of an Orange Country boutique technology consulting company Logical Zoom, provides architecture and technology strategy and training around Spring and other OpenSource technologies for major US companies and startups. As part of his consulting career, he has provided technical leadership for multiple mission critical initiatives at Sony, American Express, EMC, Intuit, Apple and many others.

Networking begins at 6:30PM.
The presentation begins at 7:00 and the meeting ends by 8:30.

Pizza will be provided by Spireon (please RSVP so they know how much to get), but as usual when the meeting ends at 8:30, we will head over to El Torito Grill for drinks, chips, and dinner for those who prefer or require something different. Here is the location:
