Look Like a Million Bucks on Your WebcamFeature Presentation:
Webcam for Success!
Look Like a Million Bucks on Your Webcam

Your entire future and well being may hinge on seeing this presentation (well, kinda, sorta). Want to impress a prospective client, boss, girlfriend or boyfriend when their first view of you is online? That's what we're talking about! This is the age of meeting with clients online and interviewing for a position via Skype, and attending meetings online. "Dress for Success" might be replaced with, "Lights, Camera, Action" as the way to work your way to the top. You've seen how awful people usually look in the bazillion YouTube videos captured off a webcam. Don't let that happen to you! Be prepared! Mike McGready will share the BEST of the BEST of the BEST tips on this subject. Lighting, background, attire, grooming, cameras, and even makeup are part of this presentation for the ages.

This was an excellent meeting and topic. Special thanks to Mike McGready for not letting a major allergy attack keep him from sharing his research and experience with us. In addition to demonstrating techniques for showing professionalism in webcam communications, he also provided a fine example of one of the traits that sets professionals apart in every type of endeavor. Pros show up and get the job done if it is humanly possible, no matter how awful they may be feeling.

OCMMA has always been a good place to peak over the top of the "Cutting Edge" to see what the next technology wave will be. Last night's Web Vid meeting led by Mike McGready was a great example of that. His "Webcam For Success" was so useful as we woke up to the common sense of the professional standard we commonly use for filming clients' video, to using those techniques for ourselves when video-conferencing. I will use his tips of background, lighting, and audio as practice my next Skype with my son's family to be prepared for the client calls discussing a project looking more professional. Mike's teaching style is also "Worth A Million", as not only the content very useful, but it is organized in a logical way that allows for catching notes and naturally remembering the importance of his lessons! Thank you Mike!
