Program:

Part 1: Adobe MAX Conference Recap

Cynthia Gordon and David Salahi will be sharing what they learned at the recent Adobe MAX conference held in October in Los Angeles. This annual conference featured presentations by numerous Adobe product managers and evangelists, eager to share accomplishments of the last year and sneak peaks into new and updated products coming soon. Cynthia and David will be talking about new developments in Creative Suite applications, including Flash and Photoshop, as well as selected new development tools such as Flash Catalyst and Flash Builder.

Part 2: What Every Multimedia Professional Should Know Before Entering into a Contract

Ellie Khabazian, a local attorney, will answer such questions as:

• What is the purpose of a contract?
• What are the practical differences between oral and written contracts?
• What are examples of provisions in contracts that may expose me to liability?
• What are examples of provisions in contracts that may protect me?
• How enforceable are contracts?
• What are my remedies for a breach of contract?

The Law Office of Ellie Khabazian has been successful in obtaining favorable outcomes for clients in both mediation and trial. Ms. Khabazian is a member of the American Bar Association, Orange County Bar Association, Orange County Banyard Inn of Court, and Orange County Trial Lawyers Association. It was a power packed evening with four presenters and annual Board elections. The Adobe Max Conference was covered by our president Cynthia Gordon and the Flash SIG manager David Salahi. It was done well so that all people from internet pros to hobbists could learn what's available and what to look forward to from Adobe. We also had an excellent talk by Ellie Khabazian, a lawyer, regarding contracts explained in a way to get past leglalese and be useful. Then Joann LeCocq, and OCMMA member, did a member showcase presenting her fine storyboard and concept designs for major companies such as Disney.
