Digital Video - After Effects Abuser Group - Tuesday, July 27

Gary Crocker will give a demonstration of the "Auto Heal" tool in Adobe Soundbooth CS4, sharing his experience at cleaning audio - that ringing telephone that disturbs the interview or priceless family history video, tape hiss from VHS, and how to defeat audience clapping to hear the singer. Task > Remove a sound > Heal. Sounds simple enough, right? Attend to discover the nuances of achieving great results. Gary also normalizes audio for church services and family gatherings. Normalizing audio aids in creating watchable, listenable video without the irritating peaks and valleys of the raw capture, inevitable when people are at varying distances from the mic.
Gary also has experience mastering audio CDs and making mp3s for the web.
Questions?
As usual, there will be time for question & answer sharing among the group.
This session will apply to other programs as well - Sound Forge is a Windows-only program and Audacity is a free program (PC, Mac, Linux) that allows similar functionality.

After Effects - Compositing

Have you ever had the urge to add a giant squirrel to that family hike video? My niece, Michele, will be so thrilled to see I took her seriously. You, too, can be the hero, adding drama, fun and hilarity or touching and tender to otherwise normal videos. Terry Syndergaard will demonstrate the techniques of masking one video to appear in another.
You can play with this on family videos or apply it to a client project, adding production value that sets your work apart. As always, your options are open. Apply this trick however the spirit moves you.
