After Effects Abuser Group - Pushing Pixels Beyond . . .

MEETING POSTPONED UNTIL FEBRUARY

A couple members simply must see the State of the Union speech as it happens. I couldn't convince them to record it for later (think of the historic value!)
My apologies.

The Client Cycle ...(No meeting this month)

FROM MEETING TO CONCEPT TO PRODUCTION

January's meeting will have us using a real life client situation to illustrate the collaborative creative process, detailing the flow from understanding the purported goal to re-envisioning it to more clearly attain the actual desired outcome.

Things we'll discuss:

• Researching the client before the meeting

• Uncovering the client's hidden purpose

• Brainstorming & storyboarding process

• Bringing in emotion to make a compelling project

• Proof of concept demo to instill confidence

• Pricing considerations

• Bumps in the road to navigate

HOW DEY DO DAT? -  Fun FX to Figure Out

This year we are creating a theme of attempting to solve the riddles of how great effects you've seen on TV, movies and YouTube were actually created. Each month we will show some clips and exchange ideas on how the effects might have been accomplished. This may or may not become a contest. Time permitting, we will demo one of the fun FX our way.

The Digital Video / After Effects Abuser Group has presentations on video editing and special effects software, including, but not limited to, Adobe Premiere, Final Cut Pro, and Adobe After Effects. Terry Syndergaard is the Manager, Bonnie Erdrich, co-manager. Meets on the fourth Tuesday of every month. The fee for non-OCMMA members is $10, or $5 for students.

Sorry to say, Obama refused my request to change the date of his State of the Union address, and my co-manager twisted my arm to change ours.... see ya next month.
