Joint General Meeting/Adobe Creative Cloud User Group

Visual Storytelling in the Digital Age

Welcome to our first meeting of the New Year! As you can see, we've changed our name and our logo, to reflect how Adobe has changed how we access all our favorite tools with Creative Cloud. We'll continue to feature presentations about many of the applications, including Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and more.

Our theme for 2014 will be learning about and discussing visual storytelling as it applies to different creative projects, e.g. the development of an e-book, a website, an interactive DVD, a movie or a slideshow.

• How do you become an effective visual storyteller?

• How is today's technology changing the storytelling medium?

• How do you best use Adobe applications to tell your story?

If you'd like to learn more about these topics, join us at our upcoming Creative Cloud User Group meetings.

Our January meeting will cover an introduction to the topic of visual storytelling, as we share notable examples from around the web. We will also discuss topics for future meetings and plans for outside speakers. We'd love to hear your input on this.

So, what story do YOU want to tell?  We look forward to hearing all about your next storytelling project. Come join us for a great adventure in 2014!

If you're unable to join us in person, please join us online through Adobe Connect:

The Connect Room will be open at 6 P.M.

OCMMA's Adobe Creative Cloud User Group - Orange County (CC-OC) meets jointly with the General Meeting of OCMMA every third Tuesday of the month. Admission is free for OCMMA members, the price for non-members is $15, and $7 for students with ID. Come at 6 PM for networking and food and soft drinks.

Our meetings feature presentations by Adobe specialists, business entrepreneurs, camera and hardware pro's, and others. Topics include trends in multimedia, demos of Adobe Creative Cloud applications, including Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and others, as well as discussions of best business practices for web technology and the digital arts. The goal of this group is to provide local designers and developers with a forum for learning from speakers and from each other about how best to leverage the power of Adobe applications in their business workflows. Cynthia Gordon is the Manager of CC-OC and Virginia Houts is the Co-Manager.

Great meeting thanks to Cynthia for doing much research regarding the many directions we all have producing ebooks, or ePub, or Apps and the difference and uses for each of them. She really saved us much time and effort to focus on which direction we want research further for our production. Fortunately also, Jeff Gomes was there to capture the whole information rich presentation, through recording the Adobe Connect session, so nothing was missed, and useful for our research. Great Work, thank you both!

Excellent topic and theme for 2014, kicked off with a great overview by Cynthia Gordon to get our creative muses musing! It was a treat to meet two new people and also see friends who can't always make it in from out of town.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
