After Effects Abuser Group - Pushing Pixels Beyond . . .

The Client Cycle
This meeting will have us using a real life client situation to illustrate the collaborative creative process, detailing the flow from understanding the purported goal to re-envisioning it to more clearly attain the actual desired outcome.
Seven topics we'll discuss:
1. Researching the client before the meeting
2. Uncovering the client's hidden purpose
3. Brainstorming & storyboarding process
4. Bringing in emotion to make a compelling project
5. Proof of concept demo to instill confidence
6. Pricing considerations
7. Bumps in the road to navigate

HOW DEY DO DAT? - Fun FX to Figure Out
This year we are creating a theme of attempting to solve the riddles of how great effects you've seen on TV, movies and YouTube were actually created. Each month we will show some clips and exchange ideas on how the effects might have been accomplished. This may or may not become a contest. Time permitting, we will demo one of the fun FX our way.

RSVP so we'll know how much PIZZA to order.

It was a fun group that participated back and forth in dissecting the vfx from Zach King's videos, with Terry at the helm. It was just a joy to watch people having fun, soloing the mysteries, brainstorming. I'd love some feedback on how the "Anatomy of a Client Sales Presentation" was for you, ex. helpful ,anything missing, you'd add something, anything further as a topic for future meetings?

I liked this format. Thanks to all attendees for your participation - ideas flew and it was inspiring to hear so many takes on how an effect can be achieved. Grabbing a cat out of a monitor or getting slammed by a car with no damage.... many eyes = many ideas. You saw things that I didn't even after study. Great night.

Thanks for letting us know. We had fun tonight, and a great discussion of "How'd they do that." We look forward to seeing you next month.

Is attending via Adobe Connect going to be an option for this meeting? I've been out of the loop for a while.
