What Do Explosions and Hummingbirds Have In Common? (No, not Exploding Hummingbirds!)
In Terry's World they both need After Effects
Improving On Reality: Fun with Visual Effects may pay off in the future.
We've all seen those great effects they do on TV and in films and wondered "How'd they do that?" If you don't have big budget feature film "chops" to do that, you can "teethe" on some creative ideas with family video and photos that provide "Over The Top" squeals of laughter from your family fans, while practicing needed skills.. The funny thing about creative ideas, you never know when or where that useful opportunity will come from.
Enter our April visual effects:
Terry Syndergaard will show how he was able to practice compositing that delighted his family by placing his niece's image onto a busy hummingbird.
For the guys in the audience, footage of an afternoon of target shooting by Bill Lang, turns into an "Over The Top" explosion, making you wonder, "What was in that bullet?"
Skills demonstrated: Camera Stabilization, Motion Tracking, Compositing.
Benefit /Take Away: Become the creative storyteller in your family, having your video showings be surprising and eagerly anticipated, while readying you for that future creative opportunity that awaits your expertise.
The Digital Video / After Effects Abuser Group has presentations on video editing and special effects software, including, but not limited to, Adobe Premiere, Final Cut Pro, and Adobe After Effects. Terry Syndergaard is the Manager, Bonnie Erdrich, co-manager. Meets on the fourth Tuesday of every month. The fee for non-OCMMA members is $10, or $5 for students.
