Come share your best and worse trades, or at least a good and a bad trade you took recently. We've done this type of meeting before and many people found it very useful.
For your winning trade, share what your assumptions were for entering the trade, how you managed the trade, and why you exited. Also, what did you learn from your trade.
For your losing trade share the same things (reasons for entering, exiting, trade management) as well as why you think it failed and what you learned from it.
If you feel comfortable sharing some trades, here are some guidelines
- Bring PowerPoint slides on a disk or USB stick, preferably containing slides with charts. If you cannot bring PowerPoint slides then bring printouts of charts and other details about your trade that you can hand out to other members.
- Try not to go through your trade using your trade software, if people aren't familiar with your tools they might get lost trying to follow all of your clicks
- As much as possible explain your entry, exit, position sizing and trade management rules
If you don't feel comfortable sharing trades or ideas for whatever reason (shy, embarrassed, inexperienced, haven't traded in a while, etc) you are still welcome to attend and observe other people's trades.
