Come out and dance to some wonderful African beats by WambaPdx

We are excited to invite you to join us for a fundraising night of great African inspired fusion music by Wamba, and Pan African dance music from DJ Dullah. Come prepared to dance the night away as we raise funds and awareness for the survivors of the 1994 Rwandan Genocide. Proceeds from the $10 cover charge and raffle, will benefit local non-profit, African Road, Inc.

Portlanders, Kelly Bean, and Lori Martin, founded African Road in 2010 to partner with Rwandan African leaders, who are working for transformation and sustainability in their own communities. Together, they help the widowed, injured, traumatized, and those left destitute from the effects of the 1994 Genocide, and its' aftermath.

I'm so glad you had a great time, Lavender! Thank you for coming to this event. Henri Mandekor organizes African Music Night at Vie de Boheme on the first Saturday of every month, so be sure and come to another one. This event, however, was a special fundraiser for African Road, Inc.

the music was much better than I expected it to be. It was good to see that Obo Addy's influence on the PDX music scene lives on.

Hi everyone ~ I spoke to Leni tonight at Vie de Boheme, and we can convene in the upper area. I'll have a sign up there but since I am the organizer of the fundraiser, I will be running back and forth between the floor and the upper level. If I don't get to greet you, please do not take it personally, just enjoy the evening.
