In order to be accepted into our group, you need to read the following message. Please mention that you read it in the request for membership section by typing "I read the Mission statement." Thanks!
Our Mission: We all need to be held! Being held is something different than sex and all animals need it. Oregon Touch wants everyone to have access to hugs and gentle touch, even when not in a romantic relationship. Being held is a big part of feeling happy and secure.
An important thing to understand about our mission is that we do not do sexual events of any kind and we are not a hook up group. We accept all kinds of people and we want our members to appreciate our diversity. Please do not request admission if you think that you would have difficulty holding any particular kind of person including your own gender.
We keep an eye out for events that involve touch, from massage exchange to cuddle parties and let our membership know about them. We do two to three events a month. One is a healing touch group that is similar to a Reiki circle. Primary Connections covers four types of platonic touch that we need and love in our lives. The third is a woman's group. You will need to meet the organizer, Kristen Reynolds, to go over guidelines and concerns before attending events. Please message her and set up a time to meet, after you are accepted into the group.
Originally named Touch Positive Oregon, this meetup was founded by local event organizers, Stara Shakti and Ashley “Jack” Ohana, on October 1, 2012. They created the meetup to serve as a hub for touch positive events and a resource for like-minded people in Oregon and SW Washington.
Today the meet-up is run by Kristen Reynolds, Ed Seidenberg, and a group of facilitators. We are committed to spreading nurturing touch to everyone who is interested in Portland and beyond.
We have a yearly fee of $10. Most of our events cost in the range of $5 to $20 depending upon the expense of the room and the facilitator.
