Third round...in a new location

This third speed public speaking session will be divided in two parts.

For a start, we're going to carry on with simple and short statements to the group about who we are, our favourite colour and why we love it, what we loathe more than anything or other similar easy to answer questions. Then we give feed back about the delivery

... We had a lot of fun last time: It seems that the simplest questions offer great opportunities for creativity...and that our already regular members don't take themselves too seriously :D

The second part will be about what you want to talk about. Some of us are involved in charities, others do business, some want to become comedians, some have professional presentations to do at work....

Whatever your subject, the basic questions have to be answered clearly with few words. Nothing can't be faithfully described in three or four sentences. What's important is to deliver enough information and enthusiasm for people to decide if they want to know more...

So the basic questions are: What is it ( a charity, a business, a political agenda...?) Who (is involved, who is it aimed at...) what for, when, where, why, how...

You don't have to prepare, just know what do you want to talk about!

Please arrive at 7pm for a sharp start at 7.15pm

I can't wait !

Another excellent session and I can see myself improving all the time. Once again Jean-Marc led but with a light touch and gave us spot on guidance and tips. As with other sessions there was a lot of laughter with some nerves but that is natural and good. It was just amazing how people's confidence grew throughout the different exercises.

This certainly is a painless way to learn public speaking!

Great ! And please, don't forget to RSVP yes on the page. It's psychological: the more people say they'll attend, the more others will be encouraged to join in!

Very sorry I can't make it to this one. I thoroughly enjoyed the previous two, and appreciate the atmosphere Jean-Marc creates, the people in the group, the practice and the advice. I look forward to being back again soon.

I registered with this group and was very much looking forward to participating, but I started a new job and was not able to get to your location on time, and the fact that it coincided with my new job was bad timing. However, if you are starting a new group at some stage, I will be better placed to participate and would love to come along.

We are still at the beginning ! New people keep joining, I keep advertising. And this one is free. Hopefully, when free groups are successful enough, I will create paying extra groups... though it will remain free forever for those who will prove themselves faithful supporters from the start :-)

I understood what you meant Ailish :-) It is just that it's a meetup group, it does not work like a training course with a step by step program. You can join at any time. I am thinking of starting another group in French if you're interested...

Oh I've been there at one of the Organisers Meetups. It's between the Pilates studio and the Cartoon Museum. Just a door and you press the first floor button. Keep pressing though if someone doesn't unlock it as they don't always hear the buzzer.

What do you think of the place for a meetup?

We had a good meeting there. It doesn't obviously have much ambience as it's really office space but this did not affect the mood of the meeting which was well attended and positive.

One thing though - it can get a little hot if it's mild outside so we had to open the windows.
