Asatru Folk Assembly meet and greet.

Charlotte Hoxie, the Folkbuilder for the Deep South region of the  Asatru Folk Assembly, will be coming down from Jacksonville to meet Asatuar in the area and answer questions about the AFA and Asatru in general.  The Asatru Folk Assembly is one of the major Asatru organizations in North America founded by Stephen McNallen in 1994.  If you've ever considered joining one of the national organizations, I encourage you to come meet Charlotte and barrage her with all of the questions you can muster.

Awesome! I'm going to start trying to plan at least one weekend meetup and one weekday meetup a month to help out with schedules.

are you guys folkish? i want to know before i go, not down for some universal shannigans

I've only met a few members of this group and since a lot of them tend to lean on the wiccan side, I would assume some of them would consider themselves universalist. Personally, I consider myself folkish as I don't like the concept of dabbling into aspects outside of the belief system of my ancestors, and I feel that to fully embrace what Asatru is, it's necessary to have roots in that culture. That being said, my purpose of creating this group was to simply have a place for people to meet others who practice Asatru and help people that are new to the concepts and have questions that need answering. This is not a Kindred holding Blots though and I'm not going to personally turn somebody away who doesn't have germanic ancestry. This particular meetup on April 13th IS an official function of the Asatru Fok Assmebly though, which is a very folkish organization.
