"Learn to Paddle" Dragon Boat Clinic - Saturday 8:00am - 9:30am

Ever wondered what is Dragon Boating? Well, here's your chance to find out. You've seen Prince William and Princess Kate doing it. You saw it on NBC's The Biggest Loser and ABC's The Bachelorette. Come join us for "Learn to Paddle Camp"  and learn how to paddle like a Prince or Princess; become the Biggest Loser by incorporating this into your exercise routine or the Biggest Winner by joining our racing team; or you just may meet your future husband or wife for all you singles. The boat is a 40-foot, canoe-like vessel that holds 20 paddlers. Quite often, especially at races, you’ll notice that each boat is adorned with a dragon head and tail. The dragon is a reflection of Chinese belief that dragons symbolize protection from evil and disease.

This event is open to the first 20 people who RSVP. The cost for this camp is $20. After you have completed the  "Learn to Paddle Clinic", you're ready to join the Orlando Dragon Boat Club and use the open practices that meet every Wednesday @ 9:00 am, 5:30pm, Saturday @ 9:30am and Sunday @ 8:30am.To ensure your spot on the boat, please RSVP to this event.

What to bring:  Water to drink on the boat; water shoes; hat; sunglasses; sunscreen; gardening knee pad, if you have one, although it's not for your knees but your tookus; and if this is your first time, your completed waivers.  Waivers can be found by clicking HERE.

Please try to arrive 20 - 15 minutes early to get fitted for the correct size paddle, pfd and sign waivers if you didn't bring with you. Waivers can be found by HERE (we have to make sure we please the insurance peeps).   Money will be collected from paddlers when you sign in or for you're convenience you can pay via Paypal online.

See you on the water! Paddles up!

If you have paddling gloves, you can use them. Otherwise, you will be fine without them.
