History Book Club with Jeff Klinkenberg discussing his book "Alligators in B-Flat: Improbable Tales from the Files of Real Florida"
Did you know male alligators will answer a B-flat chord with a thunderous bellow? Learn about how award-winning author Jeff Klinkenberg enlisted the help of a professional symphony orchestra tuba player to find this out. Klinkenberg explores the vast contradictions that make up the sunshine state in a journey through fishing camps, country stores, museums, and libraries in his latest book, “Alligators in B-Flat.” Discover Florida’s unusual, out-of-the-ordinary truths that make it a place worth celebrating.
A Miami native, Klinkenberg began working in newspapers at the age of 16. He’s been writing for the St. Petersburg Times since 1977 and is a two-time winner of the Paul Hansell Distinguished Journalism Award, the highest honor given by the Florida Society of Newspaper Editors.
