Welcome, Orlando Natural Mamas! This is a group for natural-minded mommies of babies and toddlers in the Central Florida area who want the social interaction of play dates on a weekly or monthly basis. (While there is no age limit, most of the kids are under age four.) We all have something to learn and something to share...whether it is information about holistic and home remedies, breastfeeding, cloth diapering, natural childbirth, feeding healthy foods to your families, baby-wearing, etc...This is a place to chat, ask questions, become informed and support and encourage the other mamas. We will try to make meet-ups conducive to babies and toddlers in a relaxed, playful setting. Every mama is welcome to join, whether you are a seasoned natural mama or a mama interested in natural living.
We are so excited that you have chosen to be a part of this great group of moms. We wanted to take a moment to let you know how excited we are to be able to continue this awesome and unique group in Central Florida. In order for the group to continue to grow with active members and to form a sense of community amongst the group, the following guidelines were established.
We will try to offer at least 2 - 3 events each week of fun get togethers: parks, home playdates, splash pads, story times, library events, arts & crafts. Our meetup time is typically midmorning or late afternoon/evening after nap time. Our playdates usually last anywhere from one to four hours.
Anyone is welcome to join our Facebook group page for more chatting and interaction, however we are a SECRET FB group due to spammers & the personal nature of issues discussed. If you are interested in joining the FB group please msg. us with your FB name & we'd be happy to add you!
A few straightforward guidelines we follow:
Please include a picture of yourself on your profile (with or without your little one). Many activities are in public places where we are meeting other moms for the first time, so we need to know faces to look for. For new members, please review the RSVP roster the morning of the activity, look for these faces & introduce yourself. Anyone attending can also mention a distinguishing factor in the comments of an event to help others know you’re with the group (I.E. I’ll be wearing a bright green sunhat and probably my baby).
Please take a moment to update your RSVP if your ability to attend an event changes. Moms are eager to connect with other moms - that’s the purpose of this group. It’s disappointing to be sitting alone at a meetup when you’re expecting other moms to be there and we care about the group members’ safety. If a member is a “no shows” (i.e. didn’t change RSVP) 3 times, she will be removed from the group.
Members of the group to pay a $12 annual fee to cover the cost of the Meetup page ($180 per year) as well as craft supplies used during activities. This would not cover admission to venues where some of the play dates may take place. * Please note that members who do not pay the $12 before the 30 day trial ends will be removed by Meetup.
Moms are expected to attend at least one activity every 6 months. New members must attend one play date and pay $12 annual dues within 30 days. For the security of our moms & kids and to keep our calendar private to active moms only, we regularly review our member roster & remove moms who aren't active (attend at least one activity every 6 months & pay $12 annual dues). New members are encouraged to attend at least two activities within 3 months of joining. Assuming she wants to continue on with us, pay the $12 annual dues at or after the second Meetup. Dues can be paid via paypal using the link on our group’s main page or in person at a Meetup! Dues will be used to…
- Cover Meetup website costs - Provide craft supplies for Meetups
*Please note that we always welcome guest hosts! With "Orlando" being such a large geographical area we do our best to try to spread out the meetup locations but guest hosts can certainly assist us in accommodating the various areas.
We hope that you find this group to be an opportunity to meet other like-minded Mamas and provide your children with fun and friendships.
