Orlando Maker Faire 2014 Info

Want to find out more about that cool project, person or topic you saw, met or learned about at Maker Faire 2014? Here's more info on these:

Jim Stana's company, JMS3DPrinting.com is offering a chance to win a $25 gift certificate for a 3D print to be randomly chosen from attendees at our next two meetings in 2014. Click here for detailed rules. Jim shared some of his sample prints (both successes and failures) at Maker Faire, along with some raft he hopes to recycle. He shared his experience with a 3D printer at our June meeting. The content of his talk is available in our files section.

Kevin Hines, founder of Orlando Robotics & Makers Club taught us about flying RC model aircraft via FPV (First Person View), i.e., via live wireless video from the cockpit of the model aircraft. FPV flying video: http://vimeo.com/6028... and FPV driving a ground robot: http://vimeo.com/6041... Kevin has also shared an introduction to building a basic robot, RC controllers, and demonstrated some of the robots you may have seen at Maker Faire.

Neil, of VEI Systems displayed these two projects:
1. Race-Car Simulator with the real Gauges. More info at: Race-Car Simulator
2. Robotic Workcell Wire Game, with all of the PC-side software done by Richard of Circuits For Fun. More info at: RW Wire Game

Richard Wardlow's company, Circuits For Fun makes circuits for, well, fun. Richard brought his retro wind up digital music box and a motion activated sound effect box.
