October Meetup

First Kalon Hinds will give a talk on Building a Friendly, RESTful Web API in Sinatra, then Matthew Closson will be talking on Ruby Application Analytics. Free drinks, smiles, and beer as usual.  Longer descriptions below:

Building a Friendly, RESTful Web API in Sinatra

In this talk we will discuss what a RESTful Web API is, why your web-app might need one, and implementation strategies. For simplicity, code examples will be using Sinatra ó a micro web framework for ruby.

Ruby Application Analytics

Do you want to create applications which your users will love to use and keep coming back to? What about getting a better handle on the way your application is used? Come learn how to identify actionable insights to improve your application's usability and guide users to take the actions you desire by implementing analytics in your Ruby code.

We'll write the code needed to implement and test analytics and then demonstrate how to improve our application with the results captured.
