Speaker: Bradley Ball - Troubleshooting & Optimizing Performance! NOW!

Troubleshooting & Optimizing Performance! NOW!:  As a Consultant I walk into a lot of places and right away I get asked to help with poorly performing servers. I get asked in sessions all the ‘What would you do to help me fix my query?’ I wish there was one simple answer, or that one query was all that needs fixing. But the truth is always a mix of understanding how to set things up, performing baselines, and using Wait Stats and Extended Events to identify bottlenecks. Often along the ways we will find queries to troubleshoot and fix. The best way to find them is to understand your system well enough to know when something doesn’t add up. There will always be another issue. Having the tools to fix any issue you face is important. In this session we’ll walk through examples to help you find what’s going on in your server and how to fix it NOW!
