The last book I read was Ender's Game by Orson Scott Card. I read this many years ago, and with the movie coming out I thought I should revisit it. My favorite writers are not too surprising, considering the name of this group. Brandon Sanderson is my current favorite. I do believe I would buy anything written by him, sight unseen. Stephen King is an easy one to like as well. Glen Cook and Jim Butcher are two more. I'm sure that I could come up with a dozen writers that I enjoy, but this is a good start.
I have trouble with viewpoints, deciding what is too much detail versus too little detail, passive voice - you know, problems most writers seem to have.
Gritty horror, gritty fantasy, gritty superheroic. What can I say, I like grit.
Only write what you know.
I should hope most people listen! Waiting to speak tends to put your mind in park, wouldn't you agree? I don't think I could properly respond to anything that someone else has said if I was just waiting for a break in traffic to scoot in...
Howdy - I'm here looking for a group of like-minded creative people to help me tighten my writing and bounce ideas off of (and if it's over a glass of wine, so much the better).
