Orlando Tech Meetup Venue Change? A Discussion ~

Good Afternoon Orlando Tech Community!

Hope your having a great Monday afternoon this week which happens to be perfectly diced by Independence Day! So, hope you have a wonderful celebration this week as well.

It's been an incredible last few months for the Orlando Tech Meetup as we blew out candles for our 8 month old birthday for the June Meetup. We've had lot's of great conversations with people around Central Florida who are Building products for the web and over the course of the last couple months. Through the conversations we've grown more passionate about being a free, easily accessible and open platform for tech entrepreneurs building products in Orlando to connect, learn and share. To keep you informed, Orlando Tech is thinking about taking the next steps in becoming a registered non-profit to further that mission, inspiring and empowering the Orlando Technology Community through tools, resources and events.

So, we've got two integrated topics of interest...

1. Over the last month we've been prototyping and experimenting with an Orlando Tech Community specific Forum. We've had lot's of fun with it and are ready to push it out. The vision for the Forum is to be an entirely free and open place for you to share events, job listings, ideas, meet each other or even post a link to a project to get more feedback. It's an Orlando Tech Community specific Forum for engaging with the community.

2. Orlando Tech Meetup Venue - We're thinking through changing venues for the Orlando Tech Meetup and we want to open the discussion up with you guys. We've got a few ideas and input from a few of you through the last couple meetups and feel venue change could be a good idea right now. But we want to know directly from you what the most important aspects of a good Venue for the Orlando Tech Meetup are. And we want to know where you think the OTM should be held. So, we're talking it out on the Orlando Tech Forum -

Thanks so much for taking the time to read through this. We've very much looking forward to hearing from you and really, truly appreciate your input.

- Orlando Tech
