Re: [Orlando-iOS-Developer-Group] Trumped project

You are looking at the "somebody somewhere" who developed the system and method for playing a card game based on non-numerical indices and who has already filed the PPA ($125). And the Donald has a TM in every category for the word "Trump" only. He's already been contacted. It's a social game app where you build and collect things that is based on a popular card game, its not a gambling game. Perhaps that's part of the story you are missing. Lol

Whether software patents are good or bad, it seems we are missing some of this story. You can't patent an idea - having a trump card in Blackjack. You can only patent a method, system or apparatus for generating a wildcard to improve the odds in a game of chance. Somebody somewhere must have developed such a system or there is nothing to patent. Patents are expensive. If they have the funds to pursue a patent, then they should put that money into development. I'm all for chasing a dream, but do we need more on-line gambling. Surely there are more worthy apps to create. And I don't think The Donald is going to stand for his name and likeness being used in conjunction with this venture.
