Get your Irish Up at An Tobar in Maitland!

Come help me celebrate my birthday a little early!  I was so happy to hear that An Tobar was re-opening in the Sheraton in Maitland - I loved it when it was here before, and from what I've heard from friends, they've still got it!  From the moment you walk into An Tobar, you'll feel like your stepping into a piece of Ireland. In fact, you are. Every piece of An Tobar, from its 60-foot bar to its booths, tables, chairs and bar stools, were built out of solid wood in Ireland. Several Irish craftsmen ultimately installed every piece.

Translated as "the Well" in Gaelic, An Tobar reflects a Dublin street scape with Victorian shops, a Victorian Railway area with old-fashioned luggage and travel pieces and more. Every day Happy Hour until 8pm, with great specials - $2.00 OFF Mixed Drinks $3.00 Draft Beers $4.00 House Wines  Also featuring 25% off of all starters and Pizza.

If you go their website, you can check out their wine/beer/whiskey lists as well as their food menus:  http://www.antobarorlando.com/

See you there!

Just moved here from NYC, this will be my first Meetup with this group, I'm a professor so I may/will be a little late , my last class ends at 6:00. Still thinking of how to justify " Class we are leaving early tonight so that Professor M. can meet new and interesting people at a bar". I don't know, it just DOESN'T seem justifiable any way you flip it---but I'm up for logical, rational, well thought out "hypotheses" on making it sound potentially justifiable. Extra Credit for best potential and sound hypothesis ( of course without getting me fired) ---Lauren

LOL!! Wow...there has to be some good excuse... Even if there isn't, no points against you for being late; happy hour prices last 'til 8pm, so your only "penalty" is that you can only enjoy the specials for a shorter period of time :-) See you when you can get there. Although I would like to hear other excuses...and would then be interested to hear if there are any that you would actually USE!!

Interesting -- because when I was in college, I didn't really stick around to ask questions of a Prof offering to end class early... (gift horse...mouth...don't look) However, if the ratio of adult students outweighs the 20 year-olds....you might have a different situation. Yeah, pretty much, we were out of there as soon as we heard anything that even rhymed with "leave early." The only thing that would have made it better was advance notice so we could have made plans, but extra time is extra time... ;-)
