Namaste and Welcome!
Our group meets with the goal of providing a safe and supportive environment conducive to group meditation for beginners to advanced, and everyone in-between.
There is opportunity to ask questions before and after each meditation period. Discussion is encouraged as we can all learn from each other and benefit from the wealth of knowledge represented in our group.
Our group is structured for two separate meditation sessions on the 2nd and 4th Saturday of each month with the hope of providing the opportunity to experiment with different formats - or find a favorite and stick with it.
The 6 PM session on 2nd & 4th Saturday is unguided with music and crystal bowls. Each 6 PM meditation period is 45 minutes in length.
The 8 PM session on the 2nd & 4th Saturday is Insight meditation (also known as Vipassana), a very powerful and life-changing meditation technique. Brief instruction and discussion before meditation starts. The length of this meditation period is based on group experience, but is currently between 20-30 minutes in length.
All meetings are held at Spiral Circle bookstore in downtown Orlando (750 N Thornton Avenue, Orlando 32809 - www.SpiralCircle.com). Visit our Message Board for specific directions to and photographs of Spiral Circle if visiting for the first time.
We start our meetings on time and the door is locked once we have started. Please be prompt to ensure you are not locked out of the room. Please do not knock if the door has been locked as we may already have entered our meditative state.
Entry to the garage annex is outside the bookstore and should be through the door on the north wall (door closest to the store from the parking lot).
There is no charge to attend any of our meditations. Gratitude donations are given to Spiral Circle in appreciation for use of their sacred space for free. No one will ever be turned away for lack of $$.
Chairs and pillows are available. If you have a preferred cushion, bench, or chair, feel free to bring it with you.
Comfortable and modest attire suggested. Sweats, yoga pants, slacks, jeans, shorts and other loose-fitting clothing encouraged. A light covering or blanket is recommended to ensure your personal comfort during meditation.
Members receive a reminder of each meditation 2-3 days prior to each meeting.
