PHP June Meeting - PHP Framework Shoot-Out!

This location is shown only to members

You'll love this meetup because we are recommitted to sharing and nurturing the PHP Open Source community in central florida - whether you are a newbie or seasoned professional - we will figure out how to best support everyone.

PHP Framework Shoot-Out!

We're having 4 developers use the same requirements and data schema to create the same application using their favorite PHP Framework (I'll get the details about the type of application posted here tomorrow).

We'll be contrasting developing the same application using the Zend Framework, CakePHP, Symphony and Codeigniter.

4 Developers & 4 Frameworks - we'll be able to compare side-by-side how they developed their framework version of the same application!

This is one informative and educational meetup you won't want to miss!

Mark you calendars for Thursday, June 5th at 7pm.
Don't forget to RSVP - seating is limited!

HERE IS A LINK TO THE REQUIREMENTS AND DATA SCHEMA
(Note: You'll need to be logged into the PHP Meetup to be able to view and download the file)

Thanks,
Sway

Nice showdown, looking forward to seeing the results. Let's see which framework is more favorable. :D

It was nice to see the pros and cons of the different platforms. It was also nice to see how others went about to create their own blogging system. Even though the examples were dull and not fully developed you could definitely see the benefits of each platform which i found to be most useful.

Excellent topic and presentation, although the quarters were a little cramped. Some of the concepts were more in-depth than the audience could bear, but that's the nature of PHP, after all!

I had a great time at the meeting. It was great getting to meet some people in person and really begin networking. I'm definitely looking forward to the next meeting. Thanks to everyone who gave the presentations.

My first ever Meetup. I have to say I made the best decision to attend. An informative session, knowledgeable people, and pizza! What else could you ask for?

Thanks again to Sway and all 4 guys that took the time to build and present an app in a specific framework. Great discussions this evening ... before, during, and after the meeting.

This is a very strong and very helpful group. I enjoyed every minute and came away a little smarter.

Great shootout, it will be interesting to get a side by side comparisson that I can delve through, codewise. It was obvious that the presenters were very well versed in their framework. I look forward to seeing what it takes to get an app started in each framework. It would be nice to show a simple example (if that is possible) of the command line for symfony and cake... of course that is totally up to the presenters.
