As the group title gives it away, this is an attempt to create a social community for the single Orthodox Christians around the Bay. As i am new to the area i do not know if there is a real need for such a group, but I am committed to maintaining this group in whatever direction it takes based on the interests of its members. As a first step, it would be nice to get to know each other and learn about our interests, values and talents :) If interest arises, i am open to organizing more "active" activities, support groups, pilgrimages or charity events, but i would like the main strength of the group to come from personal relationships and affinities. I think there are enough activity opportunities around SF, even with a Christian Orthodox focus, to make such a group redundant. It would be nice to bring people from different walks of life, nationalities and parishes together. Although this is a social site, i will look into getting clergy members involved for spiritual guidance.
