OSHO Kundalini Meditation is one of the many “active” meditations developed by the spiritual master Osho. It was designed specifically for the modern man, as a way to relieve stress and to go into the meditative state much quicker and much deeper. This meditation lasts for one hour and has four stages, each 15 minutes long; the first three with music, and the last without. Each stage prepares you for the next.
Stage 1 is very active, stage 2 active, stage 3 less active, and stage 4 no activity. This progressive winding down of activity helps you to progressively wind down the mind as well, allowing for a deeper state of relaxation to occur.
The first stage is "shaking". This activity helps to loosen up and shake off all the "junk" we have accumulated throughout the day. This allows one to clear the slate so you can go deeper in the fourth stage. Without this initial step, your meditation (regardless of which type of meditation you do) will not be as effective.
The next stage is dancing. You can dance anyway you like. Let the beautiful Indian music flow through you, let it transport you outside your mind, just dance for the sheer joy of it. This step allows you to be creative, to move the body, and to just have fun, to celebrate life. And when you are totally in the dance, your mind is free from thought. The third stage is sitting in silence.
After the activity of the first two stages, you now start the process of quieting the mind. The first two stages helped prepare you for stages three & four. Sit in silence, watch your breathing, and just listen to the beautiful music in the background.
The fourth and final stage is where you can go deep into meditation. You lay down, in complete silence. The activity of the previous stages helped prepare you for this stage. Now you can just relax and let all the thoughts go. What a wonderful feeling it is to be free from the constant chatter our minds generate. Just relax and let go.
Osho Kundalini meditation acts like an energetic shower, softly shaking you free of your day and leaving you refreshed and mellow. Come, experience the bliss of Osho Kundalini meditation.
