We're gonna get our hands dirty this time. I'm not talking about "INSERT 'Hello world' INTO mytable" kind of stuff. Actually we're not going to write a single line of code or CQL.
We will be exploring what is difficult to experience on a single-node Cassandra cluster, namely data consistency issues. That's why guys we need each other to form a cluster of Cassandra nodes. I'll get switches and network cables, you guys bring your laptop with Ethernet port and latest Java installed.
We'll get our network formed, install Cassandra and proceed to our experiments.
I'm gonna hand you out a simple java-app that reads and writes some junk into our cluster with different consistency levels.
We're gonna run through different scenarios of consistency settings while we cut the network and experience how eventual consistency can get:)
Hope to see you there.
