Dan North: The Birth of DevOps

We are very happy to announce the last OSWA Meetup before the summer and were lucky enough to get Dan North to come and do a talk for us.

The title of the talk is:

The Birth of DevOps: from 2½ days to 2½ seconds

It is an experience report from the mid-2000s where we first described things like Blue/Green Deployments, the Single Deployable Artifact, Container Templates, the Build Production Line and many of the other principles that led to Continuous Delivery.

This will be the first meetup besides "årsmøtet/general assembly" that we do at Teknologihuset, and we're very excited about that!

An interesting and fun look at the history. Although there was not that much new ideas, it was interesting to hear the lessons learned

Nothing new and usefull. But really fun history lesson. The most interesting was how an idea evolved into a craftsmanship.

Will you please, please stream this on the internet, so that we over here in Stavanger can check it out to? And record it, while you're at it? (Teknologihuset should have full streaming kit installed by then, IIRC)

So, there's about 80 software engineers/architects in one room, and not a single one of them are tech-savvy enough to take their phone, install Ustream (for Android or iOS), gaffer tape said phone to the wall (camera facing the speaker) and stream this talk over to me?! For real?

Please, try one more time! I would really want to see this!

Endre, it's not a technical problem. The venue has this capability, but the presenter has requested that we don't stream the presentation at this time.
