Kayak Campouts

  • Feb 22, 2014 · 3:00 PM

Use the new techniques from Thursday's lecture, February 20 at 6:30, during the Saturday night campout.  We are camping at one of our local islands in the inter-coastal waterway February 22-23  .  The cost of the campout is $49 with your own kayak, $99 per person with kayak rental.  Guests should meet at the shop Saturday before 3pm.

Last month Sean and Jeff demonstrated how to prevent exposure from moving beyond slight discomfort into becoming a wilderness survival issue.  Beyond playing with gear, group role-playing scenarios, and discussions, the team ate well.

The foods that they prepared were fresh, spicy, and perfect comfort foods for around the campfire.  They balanced all of this eating with proper hydration by making espresso, tea, a hot toddy, and some hot coco.

Imagine what Sean and Jeff have cooked up for the campout on the topic of Fire.
