Home Concert with The Roofhoppers

Saturday, March 23

6:00pm Potluck dinner

7:00 Concert

7:45 Dessert

8:15 2nd set of concert

The Roofhoppers

Based in Toronto, The Roofhoppers are an acoustic trio that explore their original compositions and flights of improvisation. They are Sam McLellan on acoustic bass and vocals, John David Williams on clarinet and Adrian Gross on acoustic archtop guitar and mandolin.

They explore the common ground shared by the distinct musical traditions of klezmer, gypsy jazz, and folk.

How does a home concert work:

1. If you would like to have an alcoholic beverage, you are encouraged to bring enough for yourself.

2. If you are unable to come to the potluck please feel free to still come. We have dessert during the first intermission, so if you wanted to bring a candy or nuts to contribute that would be truly appreciated. We will have lots of sparkling water and soda for you to drink if you do not bring wine or beer for yourself.

3.Lots of people do not know other people, so do not feel awkward about coming. This is a lovely group of music-loving people.

How much does it cost?
A donation of $20/person (all donations go directly to the band). You pay when you enter. We hope that you buy a CD too so bring $ for that also.

1. A bottle of wine for yourself (or whatever you chose to drink) should you wish
2. A contribution to dinner
3. $20 for CDs (should you decide to buy one) + $20 per person for band

Enjoyable entertainment! The music, the people and the intimate setting made for a great evening of fun. In talking with John he said that he came up with the group's name to reflect the spirit of the music from the fiddler on the roof and indeed the lived up to it last night. Can't wait for the next jig.
