Turns out apt-get install libpam-dev did the trick. Riak compiled!

Fyi, here is the actual error:

deps/canola/c_src/canola-port.c:36:31: fatal error: security/pam_appl.h: No such file or dir

Great meeting! I was inspired by the riak/mongodb discussion and decided to try it out. For some reason installing on Ubuntu 14.04 is a challenge. There isn't a repo package I can just apt-get like mongodb. Documentation on basho is outdated, still points to LTS 12.04. I am trying to build from source with riak-2.0.0beta4 and erlang R16B03-1. Erlang built okay but riak failed with a security/something.h error. I will try to get help in the irc channel. I feel installing riak should take a few simple steps.

By the way this is the link on databases I was talking about (it's a series of blog posts so you will need to read them all to get the big picture):

Hi guys, just a quick note to add that we'll also try to have two smaller talks (besides the main R17 one): one about connecting C++ to Erlang and another one about implementing a simple Generic Server in Elixir. Cheers!

Is there parking nearby ? I will be driving from north Kanata and might be a few minutes late.

And on street parking is available as well, though you may need to feed the meter at some point during the evening.

    • Yannick G.

If I remember correctly, street parking is free in evenings.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
