Drinking skeptically

Come on out and socialise with your fellow skeptics!

This is also your chance to start planning for Skepticamp on January 27th. Skepticamps are events that are driven (and planned) by the participants, so let's get the ball rolling this Sunday.

We will be in The Old Kitchen, which is indoors between the Heart and the Snug Pub. This is the same location as the last time we were at the Heart & Crown. Just ask for The Old Kitchen and Chris.

I was a little confused at the time, but I didn't ask, when someone said they were a gnostic atheist, I still assumed they were talking about Gnosticism. I only found out what it meant when I read an article about it just now. I thought perhaps it was like a spiritual atheism.

Strictly speaking, agnosticism is a claim about knowledge, so the "gnostic atheist" claims to know that there is no god. I think most of the people who were at the pub are gnostic about the Christian god, and lots of other claimed gods. Some are agnostic about the possibility that there might be some form of a supernatural being somewhere out there, but would require a pile of evidence to be convinced.

This needs a location! Anyone up for the Heart and Crown again? Any other suggestions?
