We are pleased to dedicate this Meetup to helping you develop a strong and sustainable business model for your social enterprise.

At this Meetup, Michael Lachapelle will draw on his extensive knowledge and experience in business design to introduce a highly effective method for innovating and mapping out the essential elements of a successful business. Michael’s presentation will be based on the Business Model Canvas, developed by Alexander Osterwalder, Yves Pigneur and many practitioners and he will address some key considerations about social enterprise business models.

One important objective for this Meetup is to help you identify business collaboration opportunities to boost and speed up your success. Michael’s presentation will stimulate your thinking about such opportunities, and networking with other participant afterwards, could help with exploring your ideas and brining about new ones.

Note: this Meet up is intended for entrepeneurs who are planning to start, or who are currently operating a Social Enterprise.

I've had previous training with the Business Model Canvas and was very impressed by Michael's presentation and how he used the canvas to clearly identify different dimensions of a business - especially, with his example of Kiva.org. It was great to also hear how the canvas fits with Deep Customer Insight, Prototyping / Validated Learning, and Iterative Development.

I strongly encourage anyone who missed it to watch Micheal's description of platform business models using the Business Model Canvas on youtube (bit.ly/BusinessModelCanvasKiva).

To kick off thinking about Business Model Canvas and building a startup, our presenter Michael Lachapelle suggests this fun, but highly meaningful and helpful set of 6 mini video series called “From Idea To Business”:

Each video is about 3-4 minutes.

In addition to introducing the Business Model Canvas and business model dynamics, Michael will also share a great tool for developing deep customer insights and discuss the multi-sides of a social enterprise business model.

Looking forward to seeing you all on April 16. This Meetup promises to be highly informative and engaging.
