In this month, we're lucky to have one of our members, Georgiy Shibaev as a speaker. He will be presenting about different ways of improving page load time. Although the speed of internet keeps improving, it is always our goal to optimize web pages' load time. So I am very excited to learn some technique.
About the presentation: Speeding up your page loads for better user experience
Page load is a huge factor in whether a new user will stay at your site or not. Studies have shown that cutting off milliseconds for your page load drastically improves user retention. Today we’ll go over some simple ways of making your pages load faster and take up less bandwidth.
About the presenter: Georgiy Shibaev is a professional programmer. He has been doing web development for about four years. He started out with some small ruby-based apps and then moved on to Node and has been using it for about two and a half years. Web development is a huge passion of his and he always tries to stay up to date on new technologies and to read up on new things every day. At the moment, he is part of a startup called weCultura making a new social networking platform.
Design critique submissions: We will take design submissions from the group and give it a usability and design critique ending with a list of suggestions. If you have designs for us to review, please send them to me.
