Our Monthly Meeting - Wednesday, April 25th, 2012

Hi everyone,

Hope all is well and enjoying the spring weather.

Our next meeting is scheduled on Wednesday, April 25th at 6:30pm, at Code Factory, so I would like to send out an outline of topics that we'll be addressing this month.

1) News and Reviews:

  • 10 Useful Findings About How People View Websites;
  • Pattern Tap: A huge resource for expamples of specific design and user experience patterns on the web.  The example sould provide an education in what is working well on the web and why;
  • Nivo slider: a free jQuery Plugin creats a Slideshow/Slider.  If you are familiar with WordPress, there is a plugin for it and it is very easy to use.  But this can be integrated into any website.

2) Presentation:

The topic for this month is Information architecture (IA), its components, approaches, tools and techniques with practical examples - by Nassib Elkadri

About the Presenter:

Nassib Elkadri has an extensive experience in usability and user interface design within large scale web applications. He has worked on numerous projects with large government departments and private sector firms on a wide array of user experience related initiatives, including work in the following domains: user interface design; usability analysis and testing; human computer interaction; information architecture design; and web analytics. Nassib has a Master’s degree in Computer Science, specifically focused on Web-Engineering and Human Computer Interaction, and an Bachelor’s in Computer Science, with a minor in Psychology.  He is also a co-organizer of our meetup group.
