Long Fiction Critique Circle

As a follow up to Monday's meeting, here's the MeetUp for the Long Fiction group!

When eight people sign up, I'll send everyone out the link to the drop box. Please ensure that your "submission" is in the Dropbox one week before the meeting. Submissions should be no longer than about a chapter.

I'm setting the location tentatively for the Second Cup on Slater Street downtown, but it might change. If it does, I'll revise this ASAP.

This is my first critique circle and I am really enjoying sharing my work and reading all your stories. Thanks for the feedback, everyone. I also look forward to the next round :)

Many thanks to everyone for your feedback. I know it takes time out of your personal life to read and critique, so I sincerely thank you for that time and effort.

If anyone has a question about any of the cryptic notes I made on your work, don't hesitate to ask.

    Looking forward to next round,
    Cheers,
    Irv

I thought it was a great start! A great group of people with solid feedback.

I was wondering, I really have nothing to submit; any work on a longer piece right now would be purely conceptual and structural in nature- very dry and boring stuff indeed - and therefore I would feel bad about taking up a place when someone who does have something to submit may want it- is there way of working this where i can get access to the drop box to read the pieces and critique em but without taking up an rsvp space others may want to use? I can just wait and see how many rsvp i guess but if 8 do rsvp I'd like a backup plan

Sorry - hit return too soon! Could I have access to the dropbox please? Sorry again that I can't make it this evening.

I can email some fiction, a one-pager perhaps as a opener, if it's what's wanted. Otherwise, interested in meeting other writers.

I've sent out an email requesting emails for the Dropbox. If you didn't receive it (you settings my not allow me to send you emails!), please email me using the "Contact" button using the email you'd like to use for access to the Dropbox. Thanks!

Can't make this date but very much want to attend the next. I can submit a short chapter from the book I'm currently writing but I'll wait for the next meeting when I can attend. Would love to read the pieces submitted this time though. Is that possible?

Hi Caroline. Sorry you can't make the date. I agree that it's best for you to submit when you can attend (which will hopefully be the next one!). I can give you access to the dropbox where people will be submitting their work and you can read it. Hope to see you next time. (If it is just the date that doesn't work for you, there is a general critique circle set up for Oct 30 you would be more than welcome at, if you'd like!)

I wasn't able to make the short fiction day nor the general; is it ok for me to wait list a short piece?

Sorry the days don't work for you. I don't see why not. If you'd be interested in critiquing some long fiction but submitting short fiction, I'd welcome you to join this group if the day works for you.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
