***For registered participants who can no longer attend: it would be appreciated if you could change your RSVP on the site to allow for the people waitlisted to receive notice of an opening, even at the last minute. Many thanks***
What is a write-in session?
Essentially, it's writing alone, together. Everyone works on their individual project in the same room, occasionally brainstorming as a group on an issue in someone's story or getting help finding le mot juste.
Bring a work in progress or start from scratch. Writing prompts will be available for those who need them.
There is no formal presentation or class. Everyone works on their individual projects at their own pace. Some do research, writing exercises, organize their notes or drafts, or just write, write, write.
Many write-in participants report getting more work done in one session than they have been able to accomplish in years working alone at home.
Try a write-in and see if it helps you reach your writing goals.
-Please bring a power cord for your laptop as the library does not provide them.
-Due to the informal nature of these sessions, please feel free to arrive and leave at the times that work for you.
-The meeting room is being used by another group until 6:30 pm so it will take a few minutes for the room to clear before we can get access.
-Cancelling Confirmations: It would be appreciated if registered participants who can no longer attend - even at the last minute - could update their attendance status on this site to allow for people waitlisted to be advised of an opening.
-Write-ins are scheduled the first Monday of every month at the Main branch of the Ottawa Public Library.
